Jesus Christ Superstar

Although, being almost 40 years ago, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice wrote the greatest rock musical the world has ever known and heard.

When their show premiered in Australia, at the special Capitol Theatre Sydney during the year 1972 in the month of May, Harry M Miller and Jim Sharman chose an unknown rock singer for the role of Judas and launched the career of one of Australia´s most victorious performers.

Encore Theatre Company takes great pleasure in announcing that in March 2012, at Tasmania, Jon English will be coming home to the show that made him a Superstar world-wide.

Presented by Encore Theatre Company and featuring a colossal cast that stars the extremely popular Tasmanian performer Brett Budgeon playing the role of Holy Jesus, the musical being presented by Andrew Lloyd-Webber and Tim Rice would be the moving  narrator of the final seven days of the life of the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Director of this extravagant show would be Liz Bennett and the Musical Director is Matt Dudfield. The show would be presented to the audience starting Friday 16th March 2012 up till Saturday 24th March 2012 at Tasmania; and everyone is cordially invited.
