Australia's Antarctic Headquarters at Kingston,near Hobart, houses historical and contemporary exhibits of Antarctic activities, photographs and models. A sculpture at the entrance depicts life on an ice floe. Visitors can see the historical and contemporary exhibits of Antarctic activities, photographs and models in the museum and library. A 40-minute film can be shown to large groups that book in advance. Open Monday - Friday (excluding Public Holidays) 0830 - 1630 Every expedition, piece of equipment or load of fresh fruit and vegetables that ends up on an Australian Antarctic research expedition is initiated from the Antarctic Division just outside Hobart.
