Set literally perched on Little Howrah Beach, the house enjoy magic views across the Derwent River to the city and Mount Wellington. With only 10km (10 minutes drive) to the CBD of Hobart, you can combine a beach getaway with a visit to all the inner-city attractions worth seeing.
Just imagine what it would be like to open the gate, stroll across the road and jump in the water at the magical Little Howrah Beach! Enjoin a morning swim/kayaks, or step into the water to spear a flounder for dinner. If you fancy a long walk, combine Howrah Beach with a walk on Bellerive Beach.
Glow-in-the-dark bioluminescent water
This incredible natural phenomenon, known as bioluminescence or sea sparkle, occurs when tiny plankton lights up and causes the sea to literally glow in the dark. During the day the plankton give off a pink color, so if you spot this, make sure you keep an eye on the beach around midnight time to see if they glow.
Getting Around
The house is just about 10 minutes drive (10km) from the Hobart CBD. The Hobart Airport is only 15km away. Just one block away, there is a small corner store (Howrah Point Store) that does takeaways and sells groceries. The closest major supermarket is only 5 minutes walk at the Shoreline Shopping plaza.
It is highly recommended guests arrive with their own car for ease of transport. If this is not an option, public transport runs regularly along Howrah Beach Road. Taxis and Uber are convenient and reliable in Hobart.
The Space
Sunny and light-filled home accommodates 6 people with no hidden costs, completely waterfront with direct access to the beach plus a closed pets friendly courtyard . Three bedrooms generous sized, open plan kitchen/dining and lounge room, reverse cycle air conditioner on every room, single carport with further off-street parking. Flowing through sliding doors from the living room is the superb sun drenched patio allowing stylish outdoor entertaining whilst capturing scenery that is simply breathtaking. All local services within walking distance.
There is everything you need, Nespresso coffee, tea, oil, salt, pepper, garbage bags, cling wrap, foil, dishwashing detergent, dishwasher tablets, tea towels for use while staying. Enjoy a beach getaway only moments from the action, take a book to the beach and watch the dramatic sunsets from the sand, jump on a kayak, stand up on a paddleboard, fishing on the beach, or just sit, drink, chat and relax. Your time!
