The Hut; simple, close to coast and bush, low impact, warm and comfortable

Built with sustainability in mind, using mainly recycled materials, but with modern insulation, double glazed European windows that combine to provide warmth, comfort and privacy.

Surrounded by waterfront and nature, lots of walks and water activities right on our doorstep, many native animals, birds visit daily. Kayaks and life jackets available and A sail on Chris’ Farrier trimaran can be arranged if requested.

The house is compact and comfortable, with a very comfortable queen size wall (Murphy) bed that folds away to make more room if needed. It has a great bathroom with a huge walk-in shower and a separate outside bath. This bath is insulated and supplied by water that is either solar, wood or gas heated to ensure a very relaxing experience under the stars. Odourless, composting water free toilet in the internal bathroom.

Although it is a tiny house, just 37 square metres, it has a huge rear deck, most of which is covered by a large verandah that also supports the PV solar array, which in turn powers a Tesla battery. This deck is sunny in the mornings and protected from the prevailing westerly winds, and provides lots of areas to eat, socialise or work from. Easy outside living, even in winter.
Adjoining the rear deck is a private outdoor bath that has solar heated, wood-heated or instant gas hot water. On the other side of the deck is a firepit.
