Spring Beach Holiday House

Closest to the beach, Spring Beach Holiday House is a traditional beach shack – one of the first built in the area. In 2016 it had an extensive upgrade (new kitchen, new bathroom, large new deck with outside bath, beach shower and firepit, polished floors, heating, etc) which provide modern quality facilities while maintaining its original homey feel.

Located on Tasmania's sunshine east coast only 5 minutes' drive south of Orford, Spring Beach Holiday House dates from the 1940s and 1950s and has been in the family since the 1970s.

The vertical board house sits at the southern end of the beach, looking out over the ocean towards Mercury Passage and Maria Island. It is absolute waterfront, the closest to the water of all the houses in Spring Beach. With no roads to cross, it is a minute's walk to the beach and close enough to the ocean to be lulled to sleep by the waves at night...

The Spring Bay area:
- offers plenty for those wanting to explore, exercise or dine well;
- is the gateway to the glorious East Coast, with Swansea, Bicheno and the Freycinet Peninsula within an easy drive; the town of Triabunna, with its ferry service to Maria Island, is 15 minutes' drive north of Spring Beach.
- is an environmental playground, with bike-riding routes, bush walks for all levels; and occasional dolphin and whale spotting
- offers an array of heritage experiences, such as the Convict Trail and Aboriginal middens.

At the northern end of Spring Beach, a 2km cliff-side walking track north to Shelly Beach provides magnificent coastal views of Spring Bay, Mercury Passage and the Maria Island National Park.

Spring Bay, Prosser Bay and Mercury Passage are widely recognised for their first-class sailing and fishing.




ACCOMMODATION

With room to sleep 7, this airy, light 3-bedroom house offers a new kitchen and new bathroom, dining/breakfast nook, family room, separate living with French doors opening to deck, large patio and BBQ/firepit area, and beach and ocean views.

Bedroom 1: 1 x queen bed
Bedroom 2: 1 x queen bed; 1 x single bed
Bedroom 3: 2 bunk beds
(also provided is a fold-away single bed and a child's folding cot).

All three bedrooms face the water, the living room has an open fire and smart TV/DVD (with DVD library), the bathroom has a walk-in shower and second toilet, and there's an open-plan dining and kitchen area with reverse-cycle air-con. We offer a large deck and outdoor living area with bath, second shower for washing away the beach sand, a choice of a wood- or gas-BBQ, and a firepit.

The house is 50m from Spring Beach, and a safe path offers a minute's walk to beautiful, pristine sand.

Spring Beach Holiday House is fully fenced and child-friendly.

Spring Beach Holiday House is smoking- free.

We do not allow any pets on the property at all.

Mobile phone coverage on the east coast is variable (depending on your carrier).

We provide NBN internet access at the House, charge points for devices, and a smart TV with Netflix, etc. in the living room. Regular TVs are in bedrooms 1 and 2.

You'll need to bring all food, toiletries and beach towels. Spring Beach is 5 minutes drive to Orford with its well-stocked supermarket, newsagent and post office, cafes, restaurants and pub/bottle shop. Petrol is not available in Orford. The nearest refuelling station is at Triabunna, 10km north, and at Buckland, 20km west towards Hobart.

We provide complimentary basic consumables (coffee/tea/condiments etc); firewood (and a safety firescreen) for the open fire, wood BBQ and firepit, gas for a second BBQ, and pressurised and filtered water from rainwater tanks (we recommend that you boil all drinking water).

We provide linen and towels (but not beach towels). We do not provide a cleaning service during your stay.
