A short six-minute drive brings you to Salamanca Market, held each Saturday with local produce and handmade crafts. From there, wander down to the waterfront where the Derwent Ferry departs, browse at the Brooke Street Pier, a shopping centre offering Tasmanian products and gourmet treats, or dine at Aloft or Frank with stunning harbour views. Also nearby, the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery, as well as the Maritime Museum of Tasmania, offer a deeper look into the region’s history.
