Huon Bush Teepees TAS

Situated within an extensive habitat reserve, this nature retreat features 5km of bush walks on-site, via a rainforest and waterfall to mountain top views. At this multi award winning, carbon positive (we absorb more carbon than we release) retreat, there is wildlife without cages and privacy is protected by 4km winding gravel road, steep in places.

Each teepee is in its own individual forest setting with a private deck, outdoor seating, a comfortable double bed that folds away into a sofa, and a cosy wood-heater. It is 1 minute walk to the shared facilities including a large undercover kitchen area with gas cooking (stovetop, grill, oven, bbq, cooking and eating utensils) and an outdoor fire, also, a modern shower block with instant gas hot water and eco-friendly composting toilets. A large, outdoor bath tucked into the forest nearby is available on a booking system. Teepees have 12-volt solar powered lights and a cd player, towels and linen are included.

Huon Bush Teepees are central to all the attractions of the Huon Valley just 50 minutes drive from Hobart. Nearby are restaurants, a cider and apple museum, several walks to waterfalls and a choice of boat trips. We are in the Mount Misery Habitat Reserve. Right onsite are wildlife without cages, 5 km of bushwalks including rainforest, sub-alpine heathland, a small waterfall and mountaintop. Interpretive panels tell the story of Aboriginal Tasmanians and environmental issues.

Each teepee has one double sofa bed. We can add an extra foam mattress on the floor, including linen, for children at extra $40/nt. Max 3 people per tipee. Base pricing includes first 2 people using one double sofa bed. For groups of 4 - 6 people, we will allocate 2 tipees, subject to availability.

We are fully accredited Tourism Industry Council of Tasmania, also Gay Friendly Accredited. For your added security, this property is only managed in Australia and we never request payments be made to overseas bank accounts.
