The Space:
Welcome to Wellington Terrace – inner city retreat – Launceston, Tasmania.
This family-friendly terrace is a fantastic base to stay and explore Northern Tasmania from. It's your starting point before heading off to walk the Bay of Fires, Cradle Mountain and the Tarkine Wilderness. In the centre of the city, you can walk everywhere – UTAS Inveresk campus, Launceston General Hospital, the cinema, cafes + plenty of shopping/food options. Walk across the road to the Queen Victoria Art Gallery, then stroll through the gardens down to the waterfront and over to Cataract Gorge.
A grand Victorian terrace with all the history and style you need. With a spacious living area, compact laundry, high ceilings and a little balcony off the upstairs living area.
The Queen bedrooms are on both levels – one upstairs, one downstairs. The beds are cosy and comfortable and the rooms are spacious and light.
NBN wifi. Television, Chromecast and a DVD player in the lounge room.
We provide a travel cot, booster chair, stroller and nightlight for infants and a selection of toys, games, DVDs and books for bigger kids.
The kitchen upstairs is equipped with all you need to self cater/cook – including coffee and plenty of options for tea drinkers. There are always lots of pantry basics: sauces, oil, salt, pepper etc. And fresh milk in the refrigerator. There is a big refrigerator/freezer for you to store everything you need for your stay.
There is a Woolworths supermarket open 7am-11pm daily – two blocks from the house if you need any groceries. Or if, like us, you enjoy great food and like to support the locals, you can grab a basket and visit the farmers' market – every Saturday morning only one block away at 71 Cimitiere Street. Local cafes, restaurants and shopping are literally on our doorstep too, so if you'd rather avoid cooking ... simple!
All linen is hotel standard and professionally laundered, including all you will need for a comfortable stay, such as towels and blankets.
*Note: towels will not be replaced for stays under 5 days – unless requested and charged. CLEANING: The place needs to be left tidy as you found it, including washing up – please respect this as a house rule. Included in the price of your stay – the house is also professionally cleaned (exit clean). I also welcome long term stays and would love to hear from you if you would like to negotiate dates/prices that suit you. For longer stays an extra clean and linen refreshment can also be provided for a reasonable charge.
