Huon Bush Retreats is the perfect place to relax, explore and experience nature for a few days.
We are an award winning, carbon positive eco-retreat offering guests a choice of contemporary, self contained cabins, deluxe tipees and private campsites against an inspiring backdrop of Tasmanian native forest.
Relax by the fire with a glass of local wine or take in the view from the deck surrounded by native birds and wildlife.
With easy access to 5km of interpreted walking tracks through rainforest to a hidden waterfall or a mountain top, you will not miss internet or television here.
Each cabin is comfortably catered with gas cooking facilities, fresh rainwater, solar powered lights, an eco-friendly composting toilet, a cosy wood heater and a private outdoor bath. We will allocate a studio cabin and/or two-bedroom cabin according to the number of people in your group. We can (subject to availability) accommodate groups of up to 24 people at Huon Bush Retreats as follows:
- Studio One: 1 Queen bed
- Studio Two: 1 Queen and 1 single bed
- Studio Three: 1 Queen and 2 single beds
- Wallaby Cabin: 2 Queen and 4 single beds
- Clifftop Cabin: 2 Queen and 2 single beds
- ( We also have glamping Tipees with shared facilities: 2 double sofa beds)
The cabins are all within 4 minutes walks of each other, surrounded by nature.
As standard, we will allocate a queen bed for first two people, then a mix of queens and singles for extra people up to a 2 bedroom cabin accommodating 8 people. Please advise if you require other bedding configurations and we will see what we can do.
The Huon Valley is home to cool-climate vineyards and is famous for it's apple-growing heritage. Discover high quality local produce with an innovative and seasonal 'Huon Food Trail' itinerary available from Huon Bush Retreats. Breakfast hampers and gourmet freezer-to-plate meals are available on request.
Enjoy the wheelchair accessible lookout or take a 3 hour walks through the old-growth forest to Mt Misery summit and a waterfall. Experience 60-metre tall, 350 year old trees. Wildlife without cages includes possums, wallabies, bats and owls can be seen most evenings. Daytime birds are abundant.
