About this property
We endeavour to provide a same-day response to Stayz enquiries.
Carrington Cottage is a traditional Dennes Point beachside shack looking out over beautiful D'Entrecasteaux Channel and North Bruny's Nebraska Beach.
To get to us, you will have spent a relaxing 15 minutes on the vehicular ferry (2 or 3 operate at peak periods) crossing D'Entrecasteaux Channel from Kettering to Roberts Point on Bruny Island. From Roberts Point, travel 9km on bitumen road B66, and, at the well-marked junction, turn left (north) and stay on gravel road C625 to Dennes Point (10km; about 15 minutes drive). At Dennes Point the road becomes bitumen again. Continue about a kilometre on the bitumen, around the sharp corner and past the jetty and boat ramp. The Carrington Cottage sign is 50m past the boat ramp.
Although cleverly renovated to provide all the creature comforts, Carrington Cottage retains its simple beach-shack look and feel, and it is the perfect base for exploring Bruny Island's gourmet and wilderness delights.
Dennes Point...
is a popular swimming, sailing, diving, fishing and kayaking spot;
boasts fine food at the restuarant/cafe (Bruny Island Wild – Jetty Cafe);
makes the perfect starting point for a self-styled gourmet trail – check out Get Shucked Oysters, and Bruny Island Cheese Co, for starters; and
is a fantastic place to head out for bushwalks, bird watching or to go whale/dolphin-spotting.
